Hakan Bektas

(Business) Consultant

A few words about myself

I consider myself to be an active talent that always looks for improvement by innovating. Responsive to consumer and business needs. Staying on top of trends and thinking about future opportunities, such as ones presented by AI, ML and VR. I often view goods and services from a business’ perspective and make it my hobby to analyse their strong and weak points. Having these interests helped me to learn skills and develop capabilities that one would need in order to deliver strong contributions to future goals and objectives.

I know my way around many productive, creative and collaborative tools, including a good understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) applications in personal and business settings. Next to a lot of general knowledge about current and future tech that impacts or might have an impact on everyday life, together with a healthy dose of knowledge and experience on virtual reality and ‘metaverse’ settings.

Relevant academic education

UT — MSc Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Strategy

Received a 8.5 as a final grade on my thesis about virtual reality as a replacement for online collaboration tools, mainly focussing on business meetings.

University of Twente — International Business Administration
2019 – 2021

Graduated with a 7+ overall average and received a 8.0 as a final grade on my thesis about influencer marketing between sport supplement brands and social influencers.

Business & IT
2020 – 2021

Completed a minor in Business & IT during my second year at University. Learned about business innovation through IT project management and increased my skills & capabilities in managing efficient work flows and staying on track to complete determined goals in time.

Psychology
2020 – 2021

What I really improved in this minor, as was my goal, is to become a bridge that understands both sides (psychology & business) for effective information transfer within the company.

University of Utrecht & Amsterdam
2016 – 2018

I have also studied one year at the university of Amsterdam and a few months at the university of Utrecht, learning essential skills about collaboration between different cultures and finding opportunities in an international setting.

These experiences led me to believe that International Business Administration was a great match for me, which I successfully finished at the university of Twente in 2021.
